COLUMBIA RIVER- The Columbia River between Umatilla Oregon and Boardman has some of the best quality walleye fishing in the Northwest for numbers and big fish. Come to the river in January through March and the fish are in pre-spawn mode. The fishing is not a numbers game but this is a prime time for catching the biggest walleye of your life. Females are laden with eggs and weigh more now than any other time. A trip in April through May can be a challenge as the spawned females will often disperse from spawning area. However, fishing for the smaller males can be fast and furious as they linger on the spawning grounds. This is also a good time for a combo trip on Walleye and Bass. Summer time is the best for numbers and quality. Late June through August can be some of the fastest action. Find the concentration of active fish and you can fill the boat in a hurry. Kimo uses a variety of methods to catch walleye. He gets many requests from fisherman that want to learn a particular technique. He is accomplished at fishing bottom bouncers and bait, livebait rigging, jigging, blading and pulling cranks. So whether you are looking to learn something new or just want to relax and catch the best tasting fish that swims, Kimo can take care of your needs.
BANKS LAKE- Kimo has fished Banks Lake near Coulee City Washington since 1987. If you are interested in a trip at Banks Lake he recommends Feb and March and May through July.
MOSES LAKE- This shallow body of water that wraps around the town of Moses Lake Washington is loaded with walleye. May through mid June can be exceptional.
POTHOLES RES- Kimo has tapped into the fall/winter bladebait bite on Potholes, South of Moses Lake Washington, the past six years. If you like pitching blades and some terrific walleye action, October through November can be the ticket. Blades also catch alot of 3-6 lbs largemouth bass in the fall as well.
